There's a new Republic in Town

A Burger Republic, the best kind you could have.

Having previously been here, I was excited to check out the new menu. Now this certainly isn't a place I would be going every day, although it's delicious, I would end up as round and juicy as an actual burger if I did. It is a great place to go for a guilty pleasure meal and I absolutely recommend you check it out sometime.

Hallouminati Burger

I love a good food pun and this burger delivers on both pun factor and bun factor. Grilled halloumi, charred pumpkin, beetroot relish and rocket come together to form one of the best vegetarian burgers I have ever had. Halloumi is amazing hands down, nothing more needs to be said about this amazing cheese except that this burger is filled with it. The pumpkin is charred to perfection, so tender and soft, the burger wouldn't be the same without it. At first bite I didn't quite get the beetroot relish, then the smoky, earthy sweetness came into play and elevated this burger to another level. I didn't miss the meat at all. Everything was balanced so well, all the flavours complementing each other, I would 100% have this again and would even choose it over a burger with meat.

Mac N Cheese Balls
Crunchy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. These balls of delicious gooey goodness were the ultimate guilty pleasure. A new addition to the menu, we had to give these a try. For $8 you get four rather large balls stuffed with a yummy yet simply flavoured mac n cheese. This isn't a complicated flavour, they could add some bacon or jalapenos for a different take but if you want something hot, cheesy and fried then this is the snack for you! A great starter to share with friends as these can be super filling.

Onion Rings

Even the onion rings, which were on the old menu have been changed up. I am a sucker for onion rings. They are a great little snack to have, especially with a beer or cider. When I first bit into these I discovered that they were doubled, so instead of just one slice of onion these all had two. A nice light and crunchy batter coated the outside with the perfect dusting of salt. Delicious, simple and a must when you visit. $8 gets you the perfect amount of golden rings.

Cheers!!
Don't miss out of there selection of beers, ciders and other drinks. Their milkshakes are to die for, although on this occasion I decided to stick to the cider. I recommend the Salted Caramel one if you do go for a milkshake. Nothing beats a cold cider with a burger and the Adelaide Hills Apple cider helps cut through the greasiness that comes with eating fried snacks. Overall this was a fantastic visit and we both ended up so full we didn't even finish the sides we ordered. They were great before and even with more options have maintained the same fantastic quality.

If you love burgers, then do yourself and your tastebuds a favour, head down and try their fantastic food ASAP!
