Cider Monday
What do you do when it's a public holiday and you are guaranteed a day off work? Drink cider of course!
It wouldn't be a Monday without another cider review. This Monday we have the final Cheeky Rascal instalment with a cider inspired by Mexican street food. Made with Apples, lime, mint and chilli this is sure to elevate your dining experience.
This cider has a very clear colour with just a very slight tinge of not quite yellow and not quite gold. On the nose you get a lot of the apple smell, very crisp and clean. You don't really get any of the other flavours except if you take a very deep inhale you can get a little hint of the chilli but only if you are looking for it. On the palate you get a sweet burst of the apple and them the lime and mint take over. The mint leaves your mouth very clean and refreshed, which when you are eating food as flavourful as Mexican, its nice to have a palate cleanser against such bold flavours. I don't personally get any of the chilli when drinking this but I'm not too mad about that. It's a great food cider and out of all three ciders that I have tried from Cheeky Rascal, this one is the least sweet and I think the most balanced as well.
